Our local owner knows this city better than anyone. She is a total expert on everything from the best taco stands to the quietest beach spots. When you stay in one of our puerto vallarta condo rentals, you aren't just getting a key. You are getting a direct line to years of local knowledge.

Amapas gives you the best of both worlds. You can walk down into the middle of the party in Zona Romantica in just a few minutes. But when you are done, you get to walk back up to a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It is the perfect balance for a vacation.
We find that staying in an apartment in Amapas makes us feel like we actually live here. You start to recognize the neighbors. You see the same people walking their dogs. It is just so much more authentic than a crowded hotel hallway.
Authentic Flavors and Hidden Gems
One of the best things about the local touch is the food. Our host told us about tuba. It’s a traditional drink made from coconut palm sap. You’ll see guys carrying it around in big gourds. If we were just staying at a big resort, we might have been too nervous to try it. But because a local told us it was AMAZING, we went for it. It was delicious!
She also pointed us toward the best tejuino. It’s a fermented corn drink that is so refreshing on a hot day. These are the kinds of things you miss if you don't have a local guide.
We also love that our condos are close to the real markets. We can walk down and grab fresh fruit or warm tortillas. Having a kitchen means we can actually use those ingredients. It makes a huge difference to have a slow morning with local coffee and fresh mango on your own balcony.

The condos we work with aren't just sterile boxes. They have personality! For example, one of our favorite spots has a huge mural of the iconic Puerto Vallarta church right on the wall. It reminds you exactly where you are every time you wake up.
The interiors are bright and open. We LOVE the way the natural light fills the space. It makes everything feel so much bigger and more inviting. Most of these spots have large windows that look right out at the greenery or the ocean.
The kitchens are fully equipped too. We aren't talking about a tiny kitchenette. We mean a real kitchen with modern appliances. Because our host is a local, she can tell us which events are happening that week. Maybe there is a special market or a neighborhood festival. You get to be part of the "real" Puerto Vallarta, not just the version they show in brochures.
We have made so many friends just by staying in these apartments. You meet people at the local coffee shops. You chat with the vendors. It makes the whole trip feel much more meaningful.
Cleanliness and Comfort
We know that when people look for a place to stay, they worry about the basics. Is it clean? Is it safe? When you stay with a local owner who cares, the answer is always YES.
The attention to detail is much higher. The linens are fresh, the AC works perfectly, and the space is spotless. They want you to come back, so they make sure everything is perfect. We have always been so impressed by how well-maintained these condos are.
The beds are comfortable, the seating is cozy, and there is usually a great spot to get some work done if you need to. Many of the rooms even have little desks with amazing views. It’s hard to call it "work" when you are looking at the Pacific Ocean!
Our Recommendation
Honestly, we can’t imagine staying any other way now. The "local touch" has completely spoiled us. Having that insider access and a beautiful, homey space makes every trip to PV special.
