I’m obsessed with the hand-woven textiles from Oaxaca and the intricate embroidery of Otomí patterns.
We use these as throw pillows on a simple gray sofa or as a runner at the foot of a bed.
It adds an immediate pop of personality. Best of all, these pieces are handmade by local artisans, so no two are exactly the same.

Talavera is iconic, but a little goes a long way.

I always tell people to look for Huichol art.
The beadwork is so intricate and the colors are AMAZING!!
A single piece of Huichol art on a white wall acts like a focal point that ties the whole room together.
We also love using hand-blown cobalt blue glass for our dining sets. It’s a classic look that feels modern and fresh when paired with a simple table.
Why Amapas is the Best
When you rent apartments puerto vallarta, you’ll notice that Old Town and Zona Romantica are the heart of the action.
But for my money, Amapas is the best place to stay.
It’s just a few minutes from the hustle of Old Town, but it’s tucked into the hills so you get more peace and quiet.
The architecture in Amapas tends to be more modern, which provides the perfect canvas for the decor styles I’ve been talking about.
Final Thoughts
Mixing modern design with local textures isn't hard, but it does take a bit of thought.
