Buying a rug is a big decision, so here is what I’ve learned from my own experience:
- Check the Dyes: Ask the seller if the dyes are natural. You can usually tell because natural dyes have more depth and variation.
- Feel the Wool: Good rugs use hand-spun wool. It should feel substantial and a little bit "fuzzy" compared to machine-made versions.
- Look at the Back: Flip the rug over! The pattern should be just as clear on the back as it is on the front. This shows a tight, high-quality weave.
- Measure Your Space: Seriously, don't guess! Measure your room before you leave home or while you are in your rental so you know exactly what size you need.

The views from the hills in Amapas are just STUNNING. We love sitting on the balcony with a coffee and looking at how the sunlight hits the colors in our rugs. It’s the ultimate relaxation experience.
