Beach Walks (Our Favorite “Do Nothing” Activity)
If you want a simple, happy routine, this is it:
Coffee, sandals, beach walk.
We usually start around Los Muertos Beach, then wander south toward Amapas.
The vibe changes fast.
Los Muertos feels lively and busy, and then Amapas starts feeling calmer and more “local.”
If you’re an early riser, mornings are the best.
The sand is cooler, the beach is quieter, and it just feels peaceful.
If you’re a sunset person (same), stay later and watch the sky go orange and pink right over the bay.
The Malecón at Sunset (You HAVE to Do This)
The Malecón is the oceanfront boardwalk in Centro, and it’s an easy ride or long walk from Old Town.
We like going in the late afternoon.
You get that sea breeze, the street performers, and all the little moments that make PV feel like PV.
Look for the big sculptures as you walk.
They’re scattered along the whole boardwalk, so it feels like an outdoor art walk.
But best of all, the sunset views here are sooo good.

Taco Stands Near Old Town (Fast, Simple, Sooo Good)
Taco stands are one of the best parts of staying in Old Town.
You don’t need a plan.
Just walk a few blocks, follow the smell, and pick a spot with locals standing around.
Our go-to order when we can’t decide: two al pastor, one asada.
Add a cold soda or agua fresca and you’re set.
Quick tip: carry small pesos.
It makes paying easy, and it’s nice to leave a little extra.
We’re always grateful for the cooks working the grill nonstop, especially when the line is deep and they’re still smiling.
Sunset Spots Close to Amapas
If you’re staying in Amapas, sunsets are basically built into your day.
We love grabbing something simple to drink, then heading back “up” toward the neighborhood to catch the view.
It’s that perfect end-of-day feeling.
If you’re traveling as a couple, it’s an easy romantic moment.
If you’re a solo traveler, it’s still awesome—safe, calm, and you’re never really far from people and lights.
