We absolutely LOVE how easy it is to get around here without needing a car for every little thing.
For couples and digital nomads like us, walkability is a total game-changer. You want to be able to grab a coffee, hit the beach, and find a great dinner spot without a long commute. Amapas delivers exactly that, and it does it with so much style and charm.
The Perfect Morning Stroll
Our favorite way to start the day is by walking down the hill toward the ocean. The streets in Amapas are lined with beautiful stone walls and tropical plants that make every walk feel like a mini-adventure. It is so quiet and peaceful in the mornings!
If you are a solo traveler or a nomad looking for a spot to get some work done, you have to check out A Page in the Sun. It is just a short walk down from the main Amapas area. We highly recommend their coffee and the relaxed vibe: it is the perfect place to focus for a few hours before the beach calls your name.
Beaches Just Steps Away
One of the BEST things about staying here is the beach access. You can walk down to Los Muertos Beach in about ten minutes! It is the most famous beach in town for a reason, with plenty of spots to sit and watch the waves.
But if you want something a little more private, Playa Amapas is a hidden gem. You just follow the path over the big rock called El Púlpito. It is a bit of a hike, so wear good shoes, but the secluded cove at the end is SOOO worth it for a romantic afternoon.

For a special date night, Mezcal y Sal is an absolute must-try. The cocktails are creative and the atmosphere is pure magic. It is so nice to know that after a big meal and a few drinks, home is just a quick walk or a very short Uber ride away.

Living like a local in Amapas is easy because you have the essentials nearby. We often stop at Supermercado Amapas on our way back from the beach. It is a small shop, but they have everything you need to stock your kitchen with fresh snacks and cold drinks.
For those of us who appreciate local craftsmanship, the nearby markets are full of treasures. We are obsessed with the hand-woven textiles and pottery you can find just a short walk into the main town area. Bringing a piece of Mexico back to your rental makes the space feel so much more personal.
