We have spent quite a bit of time exploring the hills of Amapas, and let me tell you, the kitchens here are something else.
If you are a solo traveler or a couple looking for a place that feels like home but looks like a magazine, you are going to LOVE what we found.
Our latest stay in one of the many rentals puerto vallarta and puerto vallarta mexico condo rentals really opened our eyes to how you can mix high-tech appliances with old-school Mexican soul.
I am talking about those sleek, stainless steel ranges sitting right next to hand-painted Talavera tiles that look like they were made a hundred years ago.
The Heart of the Condo
Most people come to Puerto Vallarta for the beach, but we often find ourselves hanging out in the kitchen.
In Amapas, the design aesthetic is all about that "modern meets traditional" vibe.
We walked into our rental and were immediately hit by the colors: deep blues, vibrant yellows, and earthy terracotta.
But best of all, the kitchen wasn't just for show; it was fully equipped for someone like me who actually likes to cook.

Tile Talk and Textile Love
You can't talk about Mexican design without mentioning the tiles.
Every morning, I made coffee while staring at the intricate patterns on the backsplash.

The mix of geometric shapes and floral motifs is sooo characteristic of this region.
It makes even a simple task like washing dishes feel a bit more magical.
We also noticed a lot of hand-woven textiles used throughout the space.
Instead of generic tea towels, we had these beautiful, heavy-duty cotton "servilletas" that we used for everything.
They add such a pop of color and texture to the sleek granite countertops.
It really felt like the puerto vallarta apartments because every detail was so intentional.
Market to Table
One of the best parts of staying in Amapas is being so close to the local markets.
We took a quick trip down the hill to grab some fresh ingredients.

We brought back the most AMAZING mangoes and some fresh cilantro that smelled like heaven.
Coming back to a kitchen that actually has space to prep and cook is a game changer for digital nomads.
It is much better than trying to chop onions on a tiny hotel desk, trust me!

Why Amapas Wins
We always tell our friends that if you want the best experience, Amapas is the place to rent.
It’s tucked away enough to feel private, but close enough to the action of Old Town (also known as Zona Romantica) that you never feel left out.
The architecture in this area really leans into the traditional Mexican motifs we adore.
Think thick walls, arched doorways, and those gorgeous wooden beams.
But inside, you get the fast Wi-Fi and the modern dishwashers that make life easy.

We are so grateful to the owners who put so much heart into these designs.
It makes a vacation feel less like a temporary stay and more like a lifestyle.
For anyone planning their next trip, staying in an Amapas rental is highly recommended!
