Old Town and Zona Romantica are great, and they are basically the same area, but Amapas is the secret gem tucked just above them.
It is the best place to rent because it is quiet and residential, but you are still just a short walk from the beach.
The views from the hills in Amapas are sooooo beautiful.
You get to look out over the entire bay and see the city lights at night.
It feels a bit more exclusive and peaceful than being right in the middle of the party zone.
I really appreciate being able to walk down for dinner and then retreat back up to my quiet condo.
The modern aesthetic of the buildings in Amapas is exactly what I look for when I want to unwind.
Everything feels fresh, clean, and very private.
Practical Details You Should Know
When you are looking for your perfect spot, there are a few things I always check first.
First, look at the walkability. Amapas has some hills, so if you don't like walking uphill, look for something lower down.
Second, make sure the Wi-Fi is solid if you need to stay connected.
Third, check the balcony situation, you want a place where you can really enjoy the sunset.
I’ve made a few local rental lessons in the past by not checking these small details, so definitely do your homework!
It's also a good idea to see if the building has an elevator if you are carrying heavy suitcases.
Most of the newer condos in Amapas are very well-equipped and modern.
