Some days I'm more active. Paddleboarding, swimming, or walking the entire length of the beach and back.

Basilio Badillo Street is basically restaurant row. I've eaten my way down that street more times than I can count.
The Old Town Farmers' Market runs every Saturday morning. Fresh produce, homemade treats, local coffee, and crafts from local artisans. It's become one of my favorite weekly traditions.
And the cafes! There's nothing better than starting your morning with strong Mexican coffee while watching the neighborhood wake up.

On winter and spring Fridays, the South Side Shuffle transforms the streets into a street fair. Galleries open their doors, vendors set up shop, and the whole neighborhood comes alive.

Getting Around Is Easy
One thing I really appreciate about Old Town is how simple it is to navigate.
From the airport, a taxi to Old Town costs less than 300 pesos. Super affordable and gets you right to your doorstep.
Once you're here, you can walk almost everywhere. But if you want to explore other parts of Puerto Vallarta, just hop on a city bus marked "Centro." They run constantly and cost practically nothing.
Marina Vallarta, downtown, the hotel zone, it's all easily accessible from your Old Town base.
But honestly? You might not want to leave the neighborhood at all.
A Welcoming Community
Old Town is known for being one of the most welcoming places in Mexico.
The community here embraces everyone. It's diverse, inclusive, and genuinely friendly.
I've met people from all over the world walking these streets. Solo travelers, couples, families, retirees who fell in love with the area and never left.

Amapas gives you the best of both worlds. You're close enough to walk to everything, but you're also elevated above the busiest streets. The views are INCREDIBLE.
